The H100 SXM week of October 19, 2026 closed at 00:00 UTC on October 26 with a median of $3.39 per GPU-hour over 38 public on-demand rate cards at 36 providers. The week of October 12 had closed at $3.53 over 36 rate cards at 34 providers, so the dollar median fell by $3.53 - $3.39 = $0.14. Our base-100 index went the other way by a hair, from 105.0 to 105.1: 105.1 ÷ 105.0 = 1.001. Both weeks are final on /price-index, and every quote behind them is in the week’s receipt with its source page and read time.
Why the median fell and the index did not
The two figures answer different questions. The dollar median is the middle of whoever was in the basket that week. The base-100 index is chained: it moves only with quotes we read in both weeks, so a provider entering or leaving does not move it. All 36 quotes of the week of October 12 were read again in the week of October 19, none left, and two entered.
With 36 quotes the median is the average of the 18th and 19th. In the week of October 12 those were JarvisLabs at $3.49 and Elice at $3.57: ($3.49 + $3.57) / 2 = $3.53. With 38 quotes it is the average of the 19th and 20th. Both new quotes stood below $3.49, so 17 + 2 = 19 quotes sat below JarvisLabs, which moved from 18th to 20th. The 19th was one of the two newcomers, FarmGPU at $3.29: ($3.29 + $3.49) / 2 = $3.39. JarvisLabs and Elice listed the same rates in both weeks.
Who entered
FarmGPU entered at $3.29 and Limestone Networks at $2.95. Neither is a price cut. We read both pages for the first time on October 24, when our parser added the two providers: Limestone at 10:40 UTC and FarmGPU at 16:39 UTC. FarmGPU’s page sells H100 SXM as clusters of eight and prints the per-GPU hour in a comparison line; that per-GPU figure is the one we read.
Three rates moved, none across the middle
Three quotes read in both weeks changed, and these are what the chained index measures. Crusoe’s H100 SXM went from $4.50 to $3.90, first read at the new rate at 12:41 UTC on October 21. HPC-AI’s advertised “from” rate went from $2.20 to $2.42, first read at 16:40 UTC on October 23. Verda (DataCrunch) went from $4.295 to $4.56; it reprices in small steps through the week, and its weekly figure is the rate at the week’s last read. Our modules for these three pages were not changed in those days, so the moves are on the pages. Crusoe stayed above $3.49 and HPC-AI stayed below it in both weeks, and Verda was above in both, so none of the three moved the middle. One fell and two rose, and the index moved by one tenth of a point.
Split by operator class, the specialist-cloud median was $3.23 in both weeks and the four hyperscalers’ median was $9.90 in both. In the first build of October 27, at 05:40 UTC, the week of October 26, still provisional, stood at $3.39 over 38 quotes. Nothing here is forecast.

Open /price-index and the receipt for the week, 2026-W43, which lists the 38 included quotes and the ten read and kept out, each with its rule. The week of October 12 has its own receipt, 2026-W42. Every rate named above links to the provider’s pricing page, and the read time beside it is the scrape at 23:39 UTC on October 25, the last of the week. One exception: JarvisLabs was last read at 12:41 UTC that day, before a change to its page broke our read until October 26; the rule keeps a quote in the week for 48 hours after its last read.
